Gym Mania is currently based at Poulton Youth and Community Centre, Poulton-le-Fylde.

Gym Mania was formed in November 2004 and began classes in January 2005. The club with its motto of 'Funky fitness frenzy' is focused on FUN. Head coach, Sarah Oxley, is a fully-qualified primary school teacher and currently teaches Year 2 full-time at a local Blackpool primary school.

The club is affiliated to British Gymnastics and the North West Gymnastics Association. The club has Gym Mark accreditation the sign of a child friendly, safe, well managed gymnastics club. The club is voluntarily run by Sarah along with her growing team of volunteers and coaches and is non-profit making. All money raised goes back into the opportunities for the children and providing top-of-the-range, bright, funky equipment for the children both pre-school and older children alike.

In 2009 the club entered its first ever gymnastics competition, the North West Gymnastics Floor and Vault competition with great success. The 12 children who entered won 10 medals. The following year, the club entered the competition again, this year with 24 gymnasts including boys including at a higher level. The suceess was outstanding with 30 medals. The club is very proud of this especially with the club focus being on FUN rather than competitive gymnastics and also in a club with (at present) limited space but tones of enthusiasm and smiles.

We currently operate with various classes of various abilities on:
Friday 6-8
Saturday 9-12
Saturday 1230-430
Sunday 1230-330

In late 2010 we have recently refurbished all the floor mats within the gym and also bought an air-track. The air-tack (or bouncy castle without walls as the pre-schoolers call it) has proved extreamly popular with all our gymnasts and coaches and even some of our parents. Our weekly equipment (used by all children) includes: mini-high bar, mini-asymmetric bars, mini-parallel bars, trampette, air-track, middle height beam, floor beams, safety mats, vaults, sping-o-line, cartwheel mats, hand help apparatus, poms, pre-school apparatus.

The club has come such a long way since we started in 2005 and this is thanks to the parents of the children in the club both past and present but also the coaches, helpers and anyone who was supported the club in any way. Gym Mania simply would not be what it is today without everyone. Here's to the next 6 years.
